Field troubleshooting guide

Connection drops intermittently

Compare link and power events with a short known-good cable before changing stream settings.

This is a field-check procedure. The website is not connected to, monitoring, or testing your camera.

When this guide applies

An IP camera image or link drops out and later returns.

Initial checks

  1. Record when the drop happens and whether power or link LEDs change.
  2. Check switch port events, cable condition and the source power budget.

Follow the symptom

Link or power drops too

Check: Try a short known-good cable and compatible power source; inspect connectors and switch port.

Interpretation and next step: Stability on the short path directs further work to installed cabling, port or power.

Link stays up, video drops

Check: Compare direct viewing with the recorder or tester, and check network load and stream settings.

Interpretation and next step: A direct stream that stays stable points toward the client path or network load; collect logs before escalation.
